Art is about...

For me, art is about creating, to pull something from the deep inside oneself, out to the light, to mold and form it. In art philosophy exists the concept that the artist follows aesthetic ideas on his creative path, apparently unintentionally, often unconsciously, and then shares his/her insights through his/her work.

So far theory... my practical experience is that sometimes when I see my work in exhibition and public spaces I am deeply touched by their intimacy, to what extent they expose my innermost. They are intimate - and enwrapped at the same time.

I embarked on my artistic journey in the early 90ies, and my work has always oscillated between Informal Abstract Expressionism and Lyrical Abstraction. For me, abstract paintings are almost like geographical maps of an inner landscape, a location plan of unknown territories. If you approach them open-mindedly, with an accepting, investigative curiosity, you may find the unknown, the subtly sensed, the pre-known and at last instance encounter your own individuality and uniqueness.
